When young, one might think there’s plenty of time to succeed. As one ages, it can seem too late. Often, the time taken to define what success is and to prioritize money, family, and health, significantly hampers our ability to act.
Each of us is different regarding this life cycle, but I’d still like to share my advice for having some benchmarks. From my experience, here is the most fundamental life cycle for me:
- Between 20 and 30 years old, it’s the learning period of your profession. You should work with experienced managers to quickly accumulate deep knowledge. During this time, you should save money to reach your first level of financial independence. By the end of these ten years, you should have USD 100,000 in financial and real estate investments. To maximize return on experience and saving capacity with minimal risk, it’s better to be an employee during this period. Forget travels and pleasures and live minimally to excel in your job and save rigorously.
- Between 30 and 50, it’s the entrepreneurship period. Around 30, you should have accumulated enough knowledge to start your own business or with partners. Your financial independence provides some security to go without a salary for a few months, then earn less than your previous decade. It typically takes about five years to regain a salary level similar to your thirties. Creating a well-valued company to sell for a sum that guarantees your financial freedom takes at least ten, maybe fifteen or even twenty years. It’s during this period from 30 to 50 years that you need to succeed. Set a financial level for your freedom that suits your lifestyle and country of residence. Generally, aim for at least between 5 to 10 million dollars. For instance, if you manage to retain 20% of your company’s capital, you’ll need a valuation of around 50 million dollars for your business to earn the 10 million.
- Once you’ve achieved financial independence, likely between 45 and 50, you have until 60 to use part of your fortune and all your experience to help young entrepreneurs succeed. This is a period where you give back what you were fortunate to learn.
- After 60, you earn the right to rest, reflect on your life, and meditate on sunny beaches away from business.
What about family in this life plan? It’s your choice, but be careful not to commit too quickly in your first decade, your 20s, to not limit opportunities after your 30s. In other words, between 20 and 30, make an effort for a life dedicated to work and minimalism. Consider marriage, a house, and children after gaining enough knowledge and achieving your first financial independence.
And health? No one controls their health trajectory, but we can still give ourselves the best chance. Need I remind you to integrate daily sports activities into your routine? Here’s my fitness combo (mobility, weight training) and cardio (HIIT, jogging, cycling). And of course, your diet must be healthy. Here are some tips I also practice: dried fruits (almonds), fresh natural olive oil, onions, avocados, and my favorite drink Drinkizz made from black tea, hibiscus, and bamboo. I am an investor and co-founder of Drinkizz. I wanted to create the world’s first Organic Natural Energy (ONE) drink because it aligns with my DNA as a sustainable entrepreneur and my lifestyle. I hope to share it with you!
Is it too late for you?
If you’re interested in my life cycle for success but have fallen behind or are too old to catch up, what then?
I have good news for you, provided you prioritize your health with sports and the healthy diet I described. I must also add mental agility. To maintain it, including reactivity, you need to know the principles of accumulating knowledge and the magical power of reading and writing. If we meet, I’ll explain how to keep your intellectual capacity always at the top, using your fears, anxieties, and frustrations as fuel for success.
The good news I want to share is this: age is just a number. Therefore, the ideal life cycle I described can be infinitely adapted to suit your personal situation. Success depends on you – your ability to understand the initial life cycle and then adapt it to your professional, financial, family, and health situation.
Even at 50, 60, and beyond, everything remains possible as long as the intrinsic energy of your being stays active, alive, and even grows with stimuli through an interesting life and fundamental objectives. Don’t just watch your existence as a boring movie spectator; be the actor of your day, week, year, and life. Every lost hour is a part of your existence evaporating.
If you’re stuck in life, with your age and without vision for your future, then follow this process with these three fundamental actions; do it as well if you are young and in good shape for better success:
- Do an hour of exercise per day, even light exercise if you’re a beginner or injured. I often have back problems, but that doesn’t stop me from implementing appropriate jogging, fitness, and mobility practices. The goal isn’t to achieve sporting feats, but to unlock your body to awaken your brain. If you’re new to fitness, I recommend starting with kettlebells rather than resistance bands or dumbbells.
- Spend an hour reading and writing each day. Pick up a real ‘paper’ book and put aside social media and the internet. In my book ‘Meta-Entrepreneur,’ I detail this fundamental practice that can reactivate and enhance your intellectual power.
- Drink a can of Drinkizz in the morning at breakfast, and another after your exercise session. Its black tea provides energy, its hibiscus offers antioxidants, and the bamboo delivers silica for the beauty of your skin, nails, and hair. Other ingredients, all organic, also provide a fresh and pleasant taste. Don’t hesitate to buy a 24-can pack to start your experience, then switch to a monthly subscription to benefit from the best prices and maintain a regular and healthy consumption routine.
Follow this process without deviation for 10 days, and you will feel better. You will have a clearer vision for your life path. Contact me to share your questions and state of mind before, during, and after this process at [email protected].
