V-SIT TWIST EXERCISE – BUILD CORE STRENGTH MUSCLE AND IMPROVE BODY BALANCE

 

 

 

To improve athletic performance, athletes must make time for exercises that build core strength, stabilize the body, and provide energy for daily activities. In addition to improving posture, exercises also help prevent injuries that can occur during sports training.

 

If you’re looking for a core workout at home, Drinkizz recommends the V-Sit Twist to build core strength and improve balance! This is a simple and effective at-home exercise that helps build strong muscles to perform other sports like running or Yoga!

 

The V-Sit Twist builds core strength by working multiple core areas while improving your balance by focusing on the rectus abdominis, external obliques, internal obliques, and hip flexors while improving core and trunk balance. You can add this exercise to your core exercises for daily training.

 

Doing:

  • Sit on the floor or on the mat, keeping your feet on the ground. The heel is on the floor, but your toes may not touch the ground. Contract your abs and core slowly and raise your legs to an extended position at a 45-degree angle with your torso.
  • Raise your arms in front of your chest. Look up at your hand and keep your eyes focused on your hand throughout the exercise. You must maintain a good core posture to ensure a healthy spine throughout the movement and avoid bringing your shoulders forward.
  • Hold this V-shaped position for a few seconds to begin. Rotate your torso from side to side, stopping for a beat in the mid-position between each repetition. Move slowly and keep the lever long to challenge your abs. Work only within your range of motion and avoid letting your hips and knees shift
  • Repeat the movement for 1 minute to complete 1 set

  • Improves Core Strength: This move targets the rectus abdominis, obliques, and hip flexors. If the exercises are done correctly, you will strengthen these muscles and begin to see more of your abs.
  • Improved balance and stability: The move requires you to stabilize your core and lead muscles to perform the exercise properly. This helps strengthen the stabilizing muscles needed for better overall balance. Better balance and core stability are also associated with improved athletic performance and fewer injuries.
  • Improve lower back health: A weak core puts extra pressure on the back to support the torso and increases the likelihood of injury. Strengthening your core will help take some of that pressure off your lower back.
