FOR THE FIRST TIME, O.N.E DRINK CHECK-IN AT KONA, HAWAII WITH THE FIRST VIETNAMESE TRIATHLETE QUALIFIED FOR IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2022
On October 7th 2022, Lam Tuc Ngan – the first Vietnamese female triathlete qualified for the Ironman World Championship 2023 in Kona, Hawaii completed her part with a total duration of 14 hours 21 minutes 23 seconds. With this achievement, Drinkizz’s KOL broke her own personal record (PR) when she finished with a total duration of 1 hour 2 minutes 35 seconds faster than 15 hours 23 minutes 58 seconds at Subic 7 months ago. This result of Ngan ranked 78th out of 86 triathletes in the same age group, 1000th among 1202 female triathletes and 1905th out of a total of 2315 triathletes participating in the tournament.
Based on the sharing that VnExpress newspaper interviewed Lam Tuc Ngan when she finished her part, her performance could have been better if it hadn’t been for the 20 minutes of processing after the wheel broke on the 140th kilometer of the bike ride.
“Determined to compete with a comfortable mentality, so I do not feel uncomfortable or unhappy, because this is a story of long-distance racing and I am also mentally prepared embrace any challenge”, she said.
Also in a sharing with VnExpress in March 2022, Tuc Ngan said that:
“The only thing I could do that told myself ‘Just keep going’. From time to time there is a ray of hope, I follow it. So many times, and for a long time, those hopes made me unable to give up. Thanks to that, I worked hard for three years, being consistent with my goals”.
